Ultimate Nerds

Alright, I hasn’t had much time for blogging recently so I’ll go through a list of some of the things that I have discovered in the past month or so.1.  Dip ‘n Dots are back!  If you remember, dip ‘n dots are a frozen ice cream-type treat that are usually found at movie theaters.  That is, used to be found at movie theaters.  They always seem to disappear.  I’ll go years without seeing dip ‘n dots and then suddenly find them again.  So, let’s hope these things will stick around a bit longer this time.

2.  GAH!!! I HAVE HAD A CONSTANT STREAM OF SONGS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR THE PAST MONTH!!!!!

3.  I think I’ve figured out what will happen at the end of Lost.  First of all, let me start at the beginning.  J.J. Abrams, before Lost, had a show called Alias.  This show was as, if not more, convoluted and confusing story-wise as Lost.  Spoiler Warning:  The end of the series Alias had a lot to do with the story of the song Xanadu by Rush.  I then began to wonder if the show was inspired by the song.  Then I get Permanent Waves by Rush.  On this album, there is a song called Jacob’s Ladder.  Already suspecting a connection between J.J. Abrams stories and Rush songs, the connection of the name Jacob to lost intrigued me to say the least.  Some images from the song, I realized after closer listening, mirrored things from Lost.  Namely; dark clouds (in the form of the smoke monster) and light from the sky (when the sky turned purple).  Listening to the song further, I have come up with the following theory on how Lost will end.

POSSIBLE (IF IMPROBABLE) SPOILERS AHEAD:

In the end, it will turn out that the Losties were brought to the island by Jacob, who became disembodied during an incident on the island.  The Losties were chosen using the valenzetti equation, and were brought in order to combat the smoke monster, who is a collection of the bad thoughts of the world.  The smoke monster’s only weakness is electromagnetic energy.  Jacob had originally come to the island to fight the smoke monster, but now needs to manipulate people to put events in to action to destroy it.  Everything that the Losties have done were orchestrated by Jacob for the goal of putting together a way to make a stable cloud of Electromagnetic energy to combat the smoke monster.  We already know that the smoke monster has a weakness, in the form of those polls in the forest that block it, it’s not too far of a jump that they are setting up that they will use the same type of energy to defeat the smoke monster.  The show will end with a battle between the two clouds:  the electromagnetic cloud and the smoke monster (”the clouds prepare for battle”).  When the electromagnetic cloud wins, the sky will once again turn purple as “Light streams down in bright unbroken beams”.

Also, the main music from lost is slightly reminiscent of Jacob’s ladder…sort of… that might be stretching.
