Ultimate Nerds Beta Edition!
September 1st, 2007Okay… what is it with websites these days and Beta versions? Seriously, I’ve been noticing websites everywhere getting a site face lift and calling it a beta edition. It’s almost as if they’re advertising that they have released an unfinished project. But that’s the thing, it ISN’T unfinished. Most of the time, the beta website will be working fine, but they don’t take down the tag that says the site is a beta. It’s like Beta has ceased to be a term meaning unfinished, buggy site and has become an advertising buzzword for “NEW”, and the longer they keep the site in beta state, the longer it seems new.Maybe I would get more readers if I changed the site to “Ultimate Nerds Beta”…
