Talking about Indie Games: I’m Really Looking Forward to Things

September 17th, 2009

Alright, I plan on doing a blog post comparing graphics from the first Dadaists Gone Wild with that from the second, but I don’t have time for that today, and I’m trying to maintain a schedule with these posts.

So, I’ll talk about a few Indie games I’m really frickin’ looking forward to.

Alright, first of all, let’s get Fez and Spelunky for the 360 out of the way.  I’m looking forward to them.  Spelunky is already one of my favorite games of all time, and Fez looks to be awesome.  But they’re obvious, so let’s move on.

RunMan: Race around the world - This game looks awesome.  It’s being made by Matt Thorson and Tom Sennett, and continues Tom’s Runman series.  They’ve been working developing it for years, and it’s apparently in beta currently, so a release should be soon.  I’ve been looking forward to this game since I saw a trailer for it a while back, and it looks really fun to play.  It looks to have the speed of sonic, but a larger screen view so you can actually react to things coming at you.

Saturated Dreamers - Paul Eres‘ new game.  I recently played Immortal Defense and enjoyed it quite a bit, and I don’t even really care for tower defense games.  Imagine what Paul could do with a genre I actually LIKE (Action Adventure)!

Futurology - A game by Masna from the TIGSource forums.  I really love the LoFi style, and the game looks quite cool, although I don’t actually know all that much about how it actually plays, apparently it’ll be some sort of action fighting RPG…

Actually, there are quite a few games on the DevLogs section on TIGSource that I’m looking forward to…

All in all, these are just a few games I’m looking forward to.  I’ll probably talk about more another day.
